Students for the Exploration and Development of Space is pleased to announce its selection of the Hotel Lafayette in Downtown Buffalo as the venue for the SEDS Banquet and Awards Ceremony.

The Event will feature a discussion by NASA's Associate Administrator Robert Lightfoot. The evening's program will showcase the goals of ambitions to develop the final frontier, and the role students play in the future.

The Hotel Lafayette has recently undergone a $35 million dollar rehabilitation project which is being completed during the summer of 2012. The Lafayette was added to the National Register of Historic Places is 2010, and in its heyday was considered one of the top 15 hotels in the country. The Hotel was built starting in 1902, being designed by Louise Blanchard Bethune, the first professional women architects in the country.

The event will take place in The Courtyard Room, with catering to be provided by Pearl Street Grill. Pearl Street Grill is one of the prime restaurants and banquet facilities in the Buffalo Region, and serves a variety of over 20 Beers brewed in house. Considered one of the finest Tap Houses and Restaurant in the Western New York Region, they will help to make the 2012 Banquet one to remember.
